Photographs:

MaPaRextrew.jpg (16391 bytes)     The photograph we have is an original tin glued to a stiff cardboard backing.  On the back is the inscription, "Great Granparents Rexstrew".  The handwriting is that of my aunt Betty Prentice.  No one quite knew the actual names of the couple in the picture, except a verbal reference to "Ma and Pa Rexstrew". Through correspondence with Dan Wolary and  Lisa Showers, the conclusion is this is Nancy and Foster Rexstrew.   The remaining issue is the date of the photograph.  The picture above has the same cardboard backing and appears to have been taken together.  The picture is of my grandmother, Florence Rexstrew (Prentice), born 18 Dec 1900 and she appears to be about one year of age.   This would put Nancy about 64 or 65 years of age and one year prior to her death.  Florence's mother Ida died of complications shortly after her birth, and the story is that Florence was raised by her grandparents, which would account for a photograph like this taken together, but was pretty much swapped around with her other two sisters.  Most family history accounts reflect associations with John Wesley Rextrew and the Bennetts.
